How do most people measure their hair? Is it from the front draped to the ends? From the front of the scalp down?

If there's a standard, it's from the hairline in front, over the top and down to the ends in back. This gives a somewhat exaggerated measurement; you can't really get a longer one, in most cases. However, that means there's no way to cheat. If one person has a longer measurement that way than another, it's safe to say their hair really is longer, and the difference is not due to a difference in measurement method.
